Privacy Policy

HomeSetup is operated by Axis Affiliates LLC (“HomeSetup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at www.homesetup.organd through the HomeSetup iOS app. HomeSetup helps builders hand off a new home to its buyer: builders prefill a home’s appliances, documents, and maintenance items, and homeowners claim the home (via a QR code or claim code) to see that information and get reminders. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses HomeSetup — homeowners, invited household members, and builder staff.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and an email address — which may be the private, Apple-generated relay address if you choose to hide your real one — from Apple. If you sign up with email instead, we collect the email address and password you provide. Authentication is handled by our database provider, Supabase.

Home and property information.Your home’s address, and information about its appliances and other assets (such as brand, model, and serial number), documents (manuals, warranties, and closing documents), and maintenance items. This information may be entered by your builder before you claim the home, by you after you claim it, or by both.

Photos. If you photograph an appliance or a document (for example, a warranty card or nameplate) to add it to your home, that photo is analyzed by Google’s Gemini API to extract details like brand, model, and serial number, and is stored in our Supabase Storage account.

Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token so we can send you maintenance and warranty reminders. We also use your email address to send reminders by email.

Activity and usage data. We log basic activity — your user ID, the action taken, and a timestamp — to keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and enforce rate limits (for example, to prevent abuse of photo-upload or claim-code features).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the service: show you your home’s assets, documents, and maintenance items, and let builders prefill that information for a home before it’s claimed.
  • To process photos you upload through Google’s Gemini API and extract structured details (like model and serial numbers) so you don’t have to type them in by hand.
  • To look up manuals and support information for your appliances, and to show helpful links on your asset pages — for example, to a manufacturer’s site, a YouTube search for a repair tutorial, or an Amazon search for a replacement part (see “Third-party links” in our Terms of Service for how those links work).
  • To send maintenance and warranty reminders by push notification or email.
  • To keep HomeSetup secure and working correctly, including rate limiting and fraud/abuse prevention.

We do not use your information to serve ads, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only with the service providers that help us run HomeSetup, under agreements that limit what they can do with it. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

  • Supabase — our database, file storage, and authentication provider. Your account, home, asset, document, and photo data is stored with Supabase.
  • Vercel — hosts the HomeSetup web application and API.
  • Google— photos you submit for extraction are sent to Google’s Gemini API for analysis.
  • Apple — provides Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications (APNs) to the HomeSetup app.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HomeSetup, our users, or others.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active so we can provide the service. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). Deleting your account removes your account and associated personal data from our systems, other than information we’re required to retain for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

5. Your Choices

  • Delete your account at any time from Settings in the app.
  • Control notifications— turn push notifications on or off in your device’s notification settings, or from HomeSetup’s in-app notification settings.
  • Contact us to ask questions about your data or request changes, using the details below.

6. Children's Privacy

HomeSetup is intended for adult homeowners and builder staff in the United States and is not directed to, and should not be used by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use HomeSetup after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
